Pho Hunter Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Pho Hunter is developed and operated by Ray Studio. In this policy, “Pho Hunter”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Ray Studio and the Pho Hunter service.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information created through your use of the app, and limited technical information needed to operate the service.

• Account information: email address, display name, profile photo or avatar, account ID and authentication provider.
• User content: reviews, broth, meat and presentation ratings, notes, tags, bowl photos, restaurant photos and restaurant submissions.
• Restaurant information: names, addresses, coordinates, opening hours and related details you submit or edit.
• Progress data: bowls, places, saved places, XP, levels, achievements and challenge progress.
• Service information: sign-in events, moderation records and essential technical logs used for security, reliability and troubleshooting.

3. How we use information

Pho Hunter does not sell personal information.

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• Provide maps, nearby restaurant discovery, reviews, collections, saved places, progress and achievements.
• Display content you choose to share and maintain the community restaurant database.
• Moderate content, prevent abuse and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines.
• Maintain security, diagnose problems, respond to support requests and improve service reliability.
• Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of users, the public and Ray Studio.

4. Public information

Your email address is not publicly displayed. Your display name, avatar, reviews, ratings, notes, tags, bowl photos, restaurant photos and restaurant submissions may be visible to other users when shared through public parts of the service.

Restaurant information contributed to the shared community database may also be public. Avoid including personal or sensitive information in public content.

5. Photos and camera

If you choose to add a profile image, bowl photo or restaurant photo, Pho Hunter may request access to your camera or photo library. This access is optional and used only when you choose a photo-related feature.

Photos you publish with a review or restaurant record can be publicly visible. You are responsible for having the right to upload them and for avoiding private information in the image.

6. Location information

With your permission, Pho Hunter may use your device’s current location to show the map, find nearby restaurants, calculate distance and help add restaurant coordinates. Location permission is optional; some nearby and map features may be limited without it.

Pho Hunter does not intentionally maintain a continuous history of your device location. Restaurant coordinates added to the public community database describe a place, not your personal movement history.

7. Service providers

We use service providers that process information on our behalf or enable app features. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

• Supabase for database hosting, authentication and file storage.
• Apple Sign In when enabled and selected by you.
• Google Sign In when enabled and selected by you.
• Map and navigation providers for maps, place context, directions and related functionality.

8. Data retention

We retain account information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and maintain security. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.

Backups and security logs may persist for a limited period after deletion before being securely overwritten or removed through normal system cycles.

9. Account and data deletion

You can request account deletion in the app through Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or use the instructions on our Delete Account page. Completed deletion removes or anonymizes personal account data, including your profile, account association, avatar, reviews, bowl photos, saved places, personal collection, XP, level, achievements and challenge progress, subject to limited legal or security retention.

Restaurant or place records contributed to the shared community database may remain when they are de-identified and no longer associated with your deleted account. This helps preserve useful, non-personal community information such as restaurant coordinates and opening hours.

10. Content moderation

We may review, hide, remove or preserve content and related moderation records when reasonably necessary to enforce our rules, investigate reports, prevent harm, address fraud or comply with law. Moderation decisions may use the content, account identifiers and reports involved in a case.

11. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

Pho Hunter is not directed to children under 13, or under the higher minimum age required in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable minimum age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided such information.

13. International processing

Ray Studio and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate measures for international processing and transfers.

14. User rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing of your personal information, or receive a portable copy. You can edit some account details in the app, control camera, photo and location permissions in device settings, and request help by email. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Pho Hunter or applicable requirements change. We will publish the revised version here and update the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we may provide an additional notice in the app or through another appropriate channel.
